Austin Aries defeated Low Ki to become the new TNA X-Division Champion on tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling.
This begins Aries’ sixth reign with the X-Division title, having vacated the belt twice as a part of the “Option C” clause, gaining an opportunity at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in 2012 and 2014.
He joins Jay Lethal, Chris Sabin and AJ Styles as the only men to become six-time champions of the X-Division; Sabin currently holds the record at eight reigns across 433 days.
