Report: What Were AAA’s Future Plans for Perro Aguayo Jr. Before His Passing?

el hijo del perro aguayoFor those who don’t follow the AAA product, Dave Meltzer reported there were big plans in store for El Hijo del Perro Aguayo in the near future.

Part of the plan was set in motion when Alberto El Patron debuted with the promotion, winning the AAA World Heavyweight Championship from El Texano Jr. back in December. Aguayo recently teamed with Pentagon Jr. in the highly promoted Rey de Reyes event – the one that was postponed twice – against Rey Mysterio and Myzteziz. Meltzer noted that there were plans to resume a program between Aguayo and Myzteziz (the former Mistico/Sin Cara) shortly, followed by a world title program with El Patron for the 35-year-old star.

His father, Perro Aguayo, was one of the biggest drawing stars in the history of Lucha Libre. His son had become one of the biggest heels in AAA, amassing a perfect 13-0 Lucha de Apuesta record, and had won several tag team titles with Ultimo Guerrero, El Hijo del Santo, Hector Garza and even his father.
