KISS Frontman Gene Simmons Teaming With WWE For Horror Movie Production Company

wweVariety is reporting WWE Studios has formed a partnership with KISS frontman Gene Simmons to start a horror movie production company.

Erebus Pictures will finance and produce movies with the studio as part of a three-film deal, including “Temple,” which was originally developed by WWE Studios.

The alliance is launching with a three-picture co-production deal starting with”Temple,” originally acquired and developed by WWE Studios. Erebus, taken from the Greek God representing shadow and darkness, will use WWE television shows and social media to market its projects.

Regarding the deal, Simmons said, “The horror genre continues to fascinate me as it proves to be endlessly thrilling and engaging for audiences.”

Principal photography on “Temple” is expected to start this summer, and Erebus Pictures’ second feature will go into production later this year. “Temple” is about a team trapped in a military compound after the artificial intelligence is shut down, and they experience “strange and horrific phenomena.”

Michael Luisi, president of WWE Studios also said, “Horror films fall into a genre that thrives on genuine passion, and I believe this partnership truly capitalizes on that sentiment and supports our vision.”
