WWE Confirms NXT Star Departure, CMT Confirms New Season Of Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge, Announces Air Date And Synopsis

We reported NXT star CJ Parker, real name Joe Robinson, had asked for his release and had it granted by WWE during Wrestlemania weekend. WWE.com confirmed this news, posted the following statement:

“WWE has come to terms on the release of NXT Superstar CJ Parker, as of today, April 3, 2015. WWE wishes CJ Parker the best in all his future endeavors.”

Robinson was granted his release early in the weekend, but still finished up his duties with the company at the scheduled NXT events in the San Francisco Bay area. 

Broken Skull Challenge

Earlier this week we reported CMT was accepting applications for a new season of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge reality show. 

The network has confirmed the new season (via press release) will start August 2nd, and the following description and production information was included: 

“Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge” (August 2) – The ultimate badass competition show returns with host Steve Austin as he brings eight elite athletes to his Broken Skull Ranch to test their strength, stamina and endurance. Each episode sees contestants go head-to-head until the last man or woman standing earns the right to take on the toughest obstacle course in America, the ‘Skullbuster,’ for a chance to win $10,000 in cold, hard cash“Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge” is produced by 51 Minds Entertainment with executive producers Christian Sarabia, Steve Austin and Vincent Cariati. Julia Silverton and Jayson Dinsmore executive produce for CMT.
