Announce Team For Upcoming House Of Hardcore On Fight Network, Fans Thinking WWE Is the Only Place A Wrestler Is Talented & Successful

Some Fans Misunderstand What Makes Wrestler Talented

Following is an excerpt from Friday column on the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

A lot of fans have a misunderstanding when it comes to talent of a professional wrestler and his success.

After more than a year of build-up, Jeff Jarrett finally began announcing his roster for Global Force Wrestling. It’s been highly anticipated that this new wrestling promotion would have a best of the best roster from around the world.

The first four names announced were Harry Smith Jr., Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson and PJ Black.

Smith was DH Smith, son of the British Bulldog in WWE. Gallows was the straight edge follower of CM Punk known as Luke Gallows. PJ Black was the high-flyer called Justin Gabriel. Anderson never worked in WWE, but has been one of the top draws in Japan, along with Gallows in the Bullet Club stable.

All four performers are solid names to build a roster around. The roster needs more, but this is a great start. All four have pride. I have working experience with two of the four and know they will go above and beyond what is asked of them to make the show as good as possible.

When I tweeted my happiness with the names, a few responses stood out and reminded me about the perception of some fans. Tweets rolling their proverbial eyes at the roster announcement with complaints of another promotion trying to be a big deal and herding a bunch of names that couldn’t make it in WWE.

I’m a WWE fan. Always have, always will. It is No. 1 to me with the size of the operation and presentation. No professional wrestler doesn’t want to at least get there and see what happens. However, for as much love as I have for WWE, I’m very aware of the game.

I also used to think WWE as the top dog, and if you didn’t become a big deal there, you just weren’t top-dog material. This is wrong.
