Producer Daniel Sollinger has issued the following details for the new film “L.A. Slasher,” which is opening this Friday, June 26th.
WWE Superstar and Guardians of the Galaxy star Batista has a role in the film, which is a horror/comedy satire look at the ‘glorification’ of reality stars and people becoming famous without merit.
Here is where it will be playing in limited release at AMC theatres:
Los Angeles
AMC Universal Citywalk 19
Laemmle Music Hall 3
AMC Atlantic Times Square 14
Miami
AMC Sunset Place 24
Atlanta
AMC Southlake 24
Denver
AMC Westminster Promenade 24
Houston
AMC Katy Mills 20
Sollinger offered the following comments about completing the film:
“I have worked very hard on this film and I am very proud of what it has become. It is full of energy, style, eye popping visuals and great music – just the kind of movie I wanted to make when I went off to go to film school. Heavily influenced by music videos and horror films, it is a rollercoaster of a satire about the role reality T.V. plays in our lives. All in all a very fun way to spend a few hours on your weekend.”
Sollinger said he would be seeing the film at the Universal Citywalk showing at noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The following review of the film was also provided by Fangirl Nation:
“The visual landscape of this film is truly dazzling, taking you back to the glittering yet grimy 80’s age of Los Angeles, with the glow of neon and a stellar soundtrack of your favorite new age dance hits. L.A. Slasher’s androgynously slick look is a dazzling contrast, reflecting the bright lights of the big city as if untouchable and somehow a purification of all around him.”
