As seen on last night’s “live episode” of TNA Impact Wrestling on Destination America, “SuperMex” Shawn Hernandez made his return to the company, aligning with the Beat Down Clan against Drew Galloway’s The Rising stable.
The Observer initially noted Hernandez was being recruited (published before his on-air return) and it was actually BDC leader MVP recruiting him for the role. The report states MVP wanted Hernandez to fill the departed Samoa Joe’s “heavy hitter” role in the group. There has been plenty of speculation as to his status with Lucha Underground since his appearance, as he was under contract with the upstart promotion. It’s being said that if Hernandez was on TNA TV last night he was in all likelihood released from his Lucha contract.
The Observer noted that Hernandez was a possibility because he’s booked for the this weekend’s All Elite promotion in the main event, which would mean that if he is coming in for television, he won’t be on the PPV. All Elite is considered competition to AAA, and people under contract to Lucha Underground are not allowed to work in Mexico against promotions considered AAA opposition.
