Because reports have surfaced lately indicating WWE might be working with Ring of Honor in some capacity, speculation has been abound that WWE is also working with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
As noted, Jushin “Thunder” Liger’s appearance at NXT Takeover has lead people to believe there is some type of working relationship developing between WWE, ROH and possibly New Japan, as both Liger and New Japan have ties to Ring of Honor.
According to PWInsider.com, New Japan announced today the promotion is undergoing a major international expansion, which will see the company send talents to various international events as part of a new talent exchange.
New Japan announced the company will be working with Ring of Honor, Global Force Wrestling, the NWA, CMLL, Revolution Pro and WXW, but made no mention of WWE.
New Japan did announce they will be debuting a “Young Lions” program, which will be a developmental system similar to NXT, but it will not be affiliated with NXT in any way.
