On the use of the term ‘pro wrestler’ in his book:
“Whenever I am talking, whenever I am the one writing, it says ‘professional wrestler’. I can’t use the words ‘sports entertainer’. I know it’s branding, it’s whatever, but it’s just not my deal.” … “They’ve become fine with me saying wrestler when I’m doing interviews, things like this.”
Why isn’t he back in the ring yet?:
“The whole problem with this process is getting cleared by the doctors. I’ve been cleared by one doctor in Phoenix, but the WWE doctor is hesitant to clear me. It’s a very complicated situation, that I guess they don’t really want me talking about.”
Bryan also noted that because of the drama between CM Punk in WWE last year, things have changed significantly with the way the company handles medical situations. That’s a double edged sword, because while WWE is trying to do what’s ultimately best for Bryan and his health, he also wants to return to the ring, has doctor clearance, but isn’t allowed to perform.
The main event of WrestleMania XXX:
“I was never supposed to main event WrestleMania. That was never the plan. That was just something that fell into my lap because of certain situations. They brought in Batista thinking he was going to be this big, huge good guy, that everyone was going to love him, and they just didn’t.” … “And then Punk quit, and then all the sudden it’s like hey, we have this main event for WrestleMania that the fans are going to hate, and we also don’t have a match for Triple H. So what’s the solution for this? Here I am!”
