Karl Anderson had been negotiating with TNA Wrestling on a deal, but the reason being given for things not working out was his desire to continue working with New Japan Pro Wrestling. This was said to be a tough political move, as NJPW has a working relationship with Ring of Honor stateside, and ROH and TNA are considered to be rivals.
TNA One Night Only
Friday’s TNA One Night Only pay-per-view was scheduled as a live event because TNA has international commitments, including contracts in the United Kingdom, India and other markets.
TNA changed the monthly PPV’s that were losing money to ONO tapings, but they didn’t have any content ready due to the New Orleans event in October and the India tour being cancelled, so they made the decision to go live. It was reported previously that this Friday’s date was already scheduled to record another One Night Only PPV, so it was just a decision of airing it live to appease the existing international contracts.
