Mickey Gall Confirms His Fight With CM Punk Is Still On, Could The Fight Happen At UFC 200?, Says, ‘I Just Want To Beat Up A Superstar’, More

On whether his fight with CM Punk is still happening following CM Punk’s back surgery:

MG: As far as I know. We got word from Dana yesterday that it’s a minor surgery. Four weeks is all that it’s going to put him out of commission for. That’s plenty of time. He’s been talking about fighting for over a year. That’s plenty of time to be ready by the summer. I am hoping for UFC 200 on July 9th. We’ll see.

On whether or not he is intimidated by the idea of squaring off on a microphone with CM Punk as they build to the fight:

MG: No. It’s fun. You know? So far he seems like a very nice guy. He’s been very respectful. I know I am going to have that guy beat. Maybe not on the microphone with the promos but I know my skills will back up anything I say. I feel very comfortable from that aspect.

On whether he thinks CM Punk belongs in the UFC:

MG: I hear both sides of it. I don’t think he’s one of the best fighters in the world. I guarantee if he’s stepping up and doing this he’s got something. He’s training at a great camp. He’s training with Duke Roufus who is one of the best instructors in one of the best camps in the country you can be in. Easily. People are making jokes saying that he is not going to be good. I am not going to train like that. I am going to train like he’s the baddest, toughest guy in the world. I am going to be ready for a fight.

On all of the pro wrestling fans that will be tuning in to UFC for the first time to watch him fight CM Punk:

MG: Thank you guys. Let me make it clear, I have got nothing against pro wrestling. I just want to beat up a Superstar.
