More Details On New Global Cruiserweight Series Contestant, WWE Payback Participant Notes

As noted, 22-year-old Scottish wrestler Noam Dar has officially qualified for the WWE Global Cruiserweight Series. WWE posted the following: 

LONDON — Noam Dar won a qualifying match for the WWE Global Cruiserweight Series at a Revolution Pro Wrestling event, WWE.com has learned.

The 22-year-old from Scotland, widely regarded as one of the U.K.’s best grapplers, defeated Josh Bodom at The Cockpit in London to cement his place in this summer’s can’t-miss tournament. Dar joins Zack Sabre Jr. and Jack Gallahger, who qualified at PROGRESS Wrestling on April 24, in the field of 32 competitors.

Two more qualifying matches will be held at EVOLVE Wrestling’s event this Saturday, May 7, in Queens, N.Y. The Global Cruiserweight Series premieres on WWE Network on Wednesday, July 13, at 9/8 C.

WWE Payback 

According to wrestling statistician Darren Bongiovanni, the following wrestlers have competed at every WWE Payback event except for this year’s event: 

John Cena, Seth Rollins, & Sheamus, Curtis Axel, King Barrett, & Randy Orton, and the first three names remain undefeated at the event.

Additionally, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, & Ryback are the only wrestlers to compete at every Payback event, including tonight.
