Figure Friday – WCW Custom Elite Goldberg Action Figure

For the first installment of Figure Friday here on WrestleZone I bring you an in-depth look at a Custom Elite Bill Goldberg action figure with his iconic WCW attire as well as instructions about how you can make your own.

After his return on RAW many collectors like myself are anxious for new Goldberg action figures from Mattel. Unfortunately, it won’t be until sometime 2017 that we will hopefully see one. So, here’s a relatively easy formula to make your own.

You will need the following figures to combine to make this specific Goldberg custom:

  • Mattel WWE Legends Hillbilly Jim
  • Mattel WWE Basic or Elite Brock Lesnar (any will do)
  • Jakks Pacific WWE Classic Superstars Goldberg

Now some of you may be questioning why I chose that Goldberg out of his other figures. This one’s skin tone matches the Hillbilly Jim torso best as his other figures have a darker complexion. Making it harder to match a body without having to paint it.

Once you have all these parts you can boil some water or use a hair dryer, whichever you prefer, just be very careful and use adult supervision if you are young and reading this. If you heat water for 4-5 minutes place the figures in there with the parts you need for thirty seconds to one minute. Then the parts should be soft enough you can easily remove them.

First, you will need to pop off Hillbilly Jim’s head and arms. Next, you will pop off Brock Lesnar’s arms and put them on Hillbilly Jim’s arm sockets. Then, you will pop off Goldberg’s head and put it on Hillbilly Jim’s body removing his elbow pads and putting them on the Lesnar arms. Therefore creating your Goldberg figure in minutes.

Some people prefer using Stone Cold legs for a little shorter boot. It’s more accurate but this figure is pretty close to Goldberg’s look. All you have to do next is use acetone or clear nail polish to apply over the Lesnar glove designs, should the one you use have them, as well as remove the text on his wristband pieces to make Goldberg’s gloves black. Then you can either paint on or apply a decal made or sold by many customizers with his tattoo. Then he will be complete.

Looking at Goldberg you can see he has the typical Elite articulation with ball jointed arms and legs as well as an ab crunch joint and double jointed knees.

All the detail on this figure from the hair on his chest, his tattoo, wrinkles in his boots and padding in his gloves will make this figure stand out in your collection. The best part is that if you decide not to paint it or remove any details you can always switch the parts back as if you never made this figure to begin with.

What style Goldberg figure do you hope to see made first from Mattel? Which attire, WCW or WWE? Comment below and let me know!
