Bobby Roode will defend the United States Championship against Randy Orton at WWE Fastlane… although the match wasn’t exactly a unanimous decision.
Jinder Mahal, Roode and Orton were all involved in an in-ring segment that ended with Mahal dropping Roode with the Khallas, and Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon spoke backstage about what had happened.
Bryan tried making a title match with Mahal involved, but Shane disagreed and said Orton is clearly the challenger. Bryan brought up the fact that Shane put him in charge but constantly second guesses him, and Shane tried to explain why Bryan was making the wrong decision with this match and the WWE Championship. Bryan tried to reason with Shane, but McMahon made the match with Orton challenging Roode, and said his decision was final.
