Former TNA Star Chase Stevens Arrested After Fight w/ “Grandmaster Sexay” Brian Christopher

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting former TNA wrestler Chase Stevens was arrested for battery after a violent incident involving former WWE star “Grandmaster Sexay” Brian Christopher.

According to the report, Stevens (Jonathan Ryan Clark) was arrested on February 18th after he was involved in an incident at an Indiana hotel that left Christopher (Brian Christopher Lawler) with severe injuries that included facial lacerations, a bloody nose and dental injuries.

Stevens admitted to hitting Lawler, but said it was in self defense, and also claimed Lawler fell and hit the ground. He also told officers that Lawler had been causing problems at a nightclub earlier in the night. Stevens was later taken into custody, and a witness claimed Stevens had hit a drunk Lawler to ‘calm him down’.

Lawler had surgery to repair injuries and was later released a few days later. According to his statement to police, Lawler said Stevens thought Lawler was making an advance on Stevens’ girlfriend, but said he didn’t.

Neither party have issued a statement to Pro Wrestling Sheet when contacted; at the time of incident, Lawler was confused about the reason for attack. He was also said to be under the influence of alcohol and several prescription drugs, but “absolutely wanted to pursue charges” against Stevens.

Stevens worked for TNA as one half of The Naturals with Andy Douglas from 2003 to 2007, and later made a few sporadic appearances for WWE in 2008.
