MAIN EVENT: Mayu Itawani vs. Deonna Purrazzo (Women of Honor Tournament: Quarterfinal Match)

As Deonna enters, we see a brief in-set video promo saying how she’s the master of the fujiwa armbar. Match starts with a test of strength and the two run into a sequence of escapes and stalemates. Crowd claps the women on as both still get a feel for one another as Deonna gets off a hurricanrana and Mayu hits a headscissors. Mayu does a top rope armdrag and baseball slides into Deonna to the outside. Deonna comes back in and suplexes Mayu for two as we cut to break.

We return as Mayu knife edges Deonna and delivers an impressive Northern Lights suplex for two. Eventually Mayu heads up top as Deonna’s on the outside and goes with a high-risk leap that Deonna locks her into a fujiwa before rolling her back in. Deonna hits a brainbuster and Colt mentions how she didn’t get all of it. Only good for two. Deonna gives Mayu a wheelbarrow suplex but then bridges it into two consecutive German suplexes. Very intense. Both struggle to get up as Mayu hits a slingblade. Mayu climbs up top and hits a crisp front missile dropkick good for only two. They trade punches and Mayu goes for a headlock, but Deonna locks in the fujiwa. Mayu somehow crawls to the ropes to get the break. Mayu catches Deonna with some side kicks and then attempts a dragon snap suplex. She connects and it’s good for for the win

WINNER: Mayu Itawani via pinfall at 8:30

After the match Mayu and Deonna exchange a handshake.

Like Klein’s match last week, this women’s match was extremely gritty and hard-hitting. Deonna Purrazzo looked like a legit fighter and Mayu came off as a the very credible, yet unexpected winner. Seriously hard fought and seriously well-showcased. Absolutely a highlight match of the tournament.

We cut to a video package with the competitors of Supercard cutting their final hype promos for their matches. Love this. A cool touch that ROH upholds this basic, yet effective way to promote how important New Orleans is gonna be. Sidenote: “Hangman” Adam Page sounds like Curt Henning and it’s fantastic.
