Dalton Castle promo. He says he was staring at his calendar on the wall. The one with all the adorable munchkin cats all over it. He realized that it’s been over a 100 days since he won the ROH World Title but some people still ask if he’s championship material. He runs down the numbers: Punishment Martinez, Baretta, Beer City Bruiser and Marty Scurll. If you’re still asking if he’s championship material. You’re damn right he is.

Shane Taylor is on commentary for the main event. He credits Flip for beating him, but Taylor is going to right a lot of wrongs this year. They replay the zip-tie win from Silas Young at Supercard of Honor. Taylor said Kenny King didn’t account for Beer City being around, which was a fatal error.

MAIN EVENT: ROH Television Championship – Flip Gordon vs. Silas Young (c)

Two start off in an elbow and collar tie up, Flip gains an advantage before Silas flips his way into power. Flip kips up but Silas flings Flip back down, smacking his head off the canvas. Flip regains control to catch Silas with a handstand head scissors, tossing Silas out of the ring. Crowd cheers for Flip. Flip runs to the top rope to leap outside, but readjusts as Silas runs away to flip back into the ring and bow to the crowd. Silas goes back into the ring to turn Flip inside out with a harsh clothesline before going to break.

We come back to see Silas punching away at Flip in the corner. Silas tells Flip to “be a man” that gets him a punch to the face, but Silas returns a very harsh receipt of an elbow. Whitmer thinks Flip is knocked out. Silas goes for a pin but only a two count. Silas locks in a chin lock to choke Flip out. Crowd gets behind Flip as he fights to his feet and escapes. Silas still has the upper hand before Flip goes to the apron, kicks Young away and springboard dropkicks him. Flip shotgun dropkicks Silas into the corner to connect with a flipping dropkick. Flip then delivers an extremely innovative springboard spear for a two count. Flip climbs up top, but Silas elbows him into the sitting position. Young goes for a superplex, but Flip fights out and Silas punches him down back to the apron and back to earth. Flip, however, leaps back on the top rope without the use of a turnbuckle to kick Silas in the head and onto the outside. Flip dives through the ropes and onto Silas. We stay with the action as Flip goes for a 450 splash but Silas rolls away and Flip lands on his feet. He delivers a Samoan pop to Silas before connecting with a running shooting star for a two count (holy smokes.) We finally cut to the last break.

Back to the action, Flip gets shoulder-thrusted into the corner by Silas as the two start delivering punches, boots and strikes to one another. Silas hits a snap German suplex on Flip who rolls back to his feet and flexes on a rush of adrenaline. Crowd goes nuts before Silas catches Flip in an Irish Curse backbreaker and turning it into a clothesline before transitioning it into a rolling brainbuster. Silas pulls Flip’s limbs in to prevent any chance of a rope break, but still only gets a two count. Young lifts Flip in a full nelson, but Flip turns it into a roll-up for two. Flip goes for a superkick but Silas catches him in a fireman’s plunge. Flip rolls Silas back into the center, ducks a clothesline, goes for a star-spangled springboard move, Silas catches him in a full nelson again, but Flip gets another roll-up for two. Flip superkicks and hits Young with a falcon arrow for a very close three count. Crowd chants “that was sweet” as Silas rolls to the outside. Flip rolls him back into the ring. Silas pulls ref Sinclair towards him to kick Flip as he’s getting back into the ring and tries to roll Flip up, but only a two count. Again Silas tells Flip to be a man as he picks him up by the ear, Flip fights back but Silas catches him with the chancery for the three count victory.

Winner & Still Television Champion: Silas Young via pinfall at 11:00.

Wow – what a compliment of contrasting styles these two have together. Flip 100% lived up to his name in this match and Silas too lived up to his “Last Real Man” moniker with stiff clotheslines and brawler mentality. One of my favorite matches I’ve seen on ROH TV yet. This one’s a must-watch, gang. Overall, a very good show. Extra props should be given to Ian Riccaboni for his extremely strong attention to detail when it comes to pointing out minor aspects of the match, calling moves as if they’re everyday layman’s vocabulary and being the voice of reason. An episode like this shows that he’s really underrated in today’s wrestling commentary world.
