3. AMBROSE AND REIGNS BECOME A TAG TEAM

Is that a surprising idea? As I mentioned earlier, Seth Rollins is red-hot as a babyface and red-hot as the Intercontinental Champion. He should stay as a singles star and is the logical next challenger for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Title. I think that we can all agree that we need a long break from Roman Reigns as a main eventer, and as long as he doesn’t turn heel it’s probably better to give his spot to someone… anyone else. I don’t think that it’s good for Ambrose to be stuck in the mid-card going for the Intercontinental Title either, and if Rollins does indeed step back into the main event in Reigns’s place, this makes a feud between the two as babyfaces kind of unlikely.

So why not put Ambrose and Reigns together as a team? They could challenge for the RAW Tag Team Titles and help improve the tag team division. They can feud with Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, and any other heel team. How about a feud with The Authors of Pain? This could be a refreshing idea and a way for the WWE to give us a break from Reigns in the main event. This can also lead to an Ambrose heel turn and a feud with Reigns. They never had a feud against each other and that could also be a fresh and interesting new direction for the WWE. In fact, what if it’s REIGNS that turns heel on Ambrose? Either way, I think that this could be an interesting idea that is worth exploring.

4. TURN AMBROSE HEEL

It’s time to talk about what many of us want to see. Ambrose was an amazing heel back in the indies and in NXT, in fact he was so good that I doubt anyone even expected him to be a babyface for this long. Do yourself a favor and check out his old work on YouTube and you’ll see for yourself just how great he can be.

Setting up his heel turn is pretty easy… have him save Rollins from a beatdown by heels, and then suggest that they get back the RAW Tag Team Titles backstage. Rollins thanks Ambrose for his help but says that he wants to do his own thing now and be the Intercontinental Champion while going after the Universal Title. Have Ambrose then interfere in Rollins’s next big PPV match and brutally attack him. Ambrose can then explain his actions the following night on RAW by claiming that he was tired of Rollins stabbing him in the back. He can say how he watched Rollins replace him with Jason Jordan, and then have all of his success only because he was injured. He can then add how he offered Rollins to make it up to him by reuniting, but Rollins is again being selfish.

Ambrose can stop being funny and just become psychotic, very similar to Heath Ledger’s iconic portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight. I’m not talking about doing the same character, but simply having a similar attitude where he doesn’t care about anyone and just loves chaos and destruction. Can you imagine Ambrose interfering in random matches or randomly stealing titles? What about someone getting interviewed only for Ambrose to viciously attack him from behind and then laugh and walk away. A heel Ambrose could be the highlight of RAW every week and is something that we have to see after all of these years.

5.  GIVE AMBROSE REIGNS’ SPOT

I’m serious. Back in 2016 The Wrestling Observer was reporting that house shows headlined by Ambrose while Reigns was injured were drawing as well as house shows that had be headlined by Reigns before his injury. He’s good on the microphone, is over with the fans and seems to be committed to the business. Just last year The Miz was on WWE TV accusing Ambrose of being, “lazy and complacent,” but could he change his attitude?

What if WWE offered him the chance to be the #1 guy in return for dedicating himself more to the business that he presumably loves? Would he do it? Could Renee Young, his wife and a WWE announcer help steer him in that direction? Do you remember what I wrote about him as a heel? He can do similar stuff as a babyface. He was the most over babyface in the entire company in 2014 (after Daniel Bryan’s injury and The Shield’s break-up). He was stealing the show every week and looked poised to be the next break-out star. What if he became more serious and unpredictable? Can you imagine Paul Heyman coming out with Brock Lesnar and making an open challenge? Imagine the silence and anticipation for who will come out only for Ambrose’s entrance theme to hit? Imagine the pop for his return!

Dean Ambrose can come out, look around at the fans cheering his return, drop the microphone, slowly take off his shirt and then suddenly run into the ring to fight Brock. Have him be more serious and talk about how all that he could think about while injured was the Universal Title, and how he wants to be the best. He can become unpredictable, attacking heels randomly whenever he wants, making sarcastic comments and just causing chaos wherever he goes. I really think that given the chance, a motivated babyface Dean Ambrose can be the top star in the WWE.

These are the five things that the WWE can do with Dean Ambrose. Most likely they will choose the most predictable and unexciting route, but what if they actually tried something new?
