Shane McMahon Goes Sneaker Shopping, Compares Himself to Michael Jordan, Talks Kanye West & John Cena’s Signature Sneakers

In the latest episode of Sneaker Shopping, WWE legend and SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon joins Joe La Puma at Flight Club in NYC. McMahon has found enormous fame and success as a professional wrestler and executive, and is known for his impressive collection of Air Jordan sneakers in the ring.

At Flight Club, McMahon talks about his WWE comeback after a seven-year hiatus and reveals why he wanted to wear the “Chicago” Jordan 1s for that special moment. He also discusses his long documented love for Air Jordan sneakers and even compares his bad boy persona to that of a young Michael Jordan in the ‘80s. Later, McMahon opens up about sneaker competition with other WWE superstars like Enzo Amore and gives props to John Cena for his $25 signature K-Mart shoe. McMahon also touches on the insane resell prices of Kanye West’s Yeezys and Eminem’s $30,000 Air Jordans. In the end, McMahon stays true to his roots by purchasing four pairs of Air Jordan 1s.

Shane McMahon on wearing Air Jordans during his return:

I was wearing the Chicago [1s]. It just was very organic. I just put them in my bag and said I’m just to wear these and rock a suit and see what happens.

Shane McMahon on Michael Jordan:

The Jordans and the (Nike) Dunks came out right around the same time. I liked what Jordan was doing. It really related to me. He was kind of the bad boy if you will, and that just resonated with me.

Shane McMahon on Vince McMahon’s sneaker game:

He has the old school Stan Smith, and that’s coming back to retro. What’s old is new again. He had them in 1970.

Shane McMahon on John Cena’s signature K-Mart sneakers:
Those are John’s. I plan on wearing my own. If he wanted me to (wear them), yeah sure. He’s the face that runs the place. He’s on SmackDown Live. Whatever he needs done. But again, I’m more partial to the (Jordan) 1s.

Shane McMahon on sneaker competition with WWE superstar Enzo Amore:

No, not at all. My collection is way better. Enzo will even say that.

Shane McMahon on Kanye West’s $6,000 sneaker resell prices:

I like his music.
