Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown “All Hands On Deck For The New Day”

The New Day Kick off Smackdown

wwe smackdownTo kick off Smackdown, The New Day comes out and runs down former groups in WWE. They brag about beating up John Cena, Dolph Ziggler and The Dudley Boyz. Philadephia is bashed by them and Dolph Ziggler comes out with Bubba Ray and Devon following.

Big E and Dolph Ziggler put on a pretty good match. Big E stomps on Ziggler’s ribs and grounds him for the most part. Ziggler is able to fight back with a body splash, followed up a neckbreaker. Big E ducks a kick and then hits a belly to belly suplex. On the outside, The Dudley’s and New Day begin to brawl. Kofi is able to escape and get some cheap shots in on Dolph, holding his leg down while Big E picks up the win.

You can tell that WWE is “all in” on The New Day. They end RAW in dominant fashion and kick off Smackdown with a big victory. They MUST get another championship in the group. I would love to see Big E win the US Title at Hell in a Cell. Hell, why not Xavier?

Can you imagine him beating Cena and getting a chance to carry a title along with his trombone? He is entertaining to the max and has developed into one of the best characters in the company. This whole group just gets it. Either way, New Day carried the first 20-25 minutes of Smackdown tonight.

Six Divas Action

Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Natalya team up to take on Team Bella in six Divas action on Smackdown. I really liked this match for a few reasons. Whenever you need a solid match, with a real story, you bring in Natalya. She is such a professional and really solid in the ring. She took a lot of the beating tonight, along with Becky, to make Charlotte look like the powerful champion that she is.

Team Bella continues to be the real heel faction in this Divas Revolution. I never understood why Team BAD was booked as heels early on. You should have all of the young and “newer” Divas face off against the ultimate heels in Nikki and Brie. Make them the clear cut heels and let everyone else fall into place.

I liked seeing Charlotte pick up the win tonight, making her tap out. Too many times, we see the champion lose non-title or tag team matches. This was a breath of fresh air, letting your champion look like a strong champion.
