Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown “New Heels Are Needed”

Roman Reigns vs. Bo Dallas

Smackdown kicks off with Roman Reigns talking about his feud with Bray Wyatt. He gets interrupted by Dallas and a match takes place. Clothesline, Samoan Drop, Superman Punch and Spear is basically all you need to know from Roman in his defeat of Dallas.

Bray Wyatt says he has a surprise for Roman on Raw Monday night, as he appears on the screen after the match.

We know Roman is not the best talker, so why would you let him go out there and try again? I am okay with a few times, but this feud is not about him talking. It needs to be about him fighting and Bray carrying it on the mic. Let Bray play mind games without Roman saying anything. Similar to Ryback, Reigns just does not connect vocally to everyone. I am not saying he is terrible like most people do, but he is so far away from being on a consistent level. Solution? Let Roman fight and let Bray talk. Also, Bo Dallas? Really? Roman Reigns vs. Bo Dallas is what you kick Smackdown off with?

King Barrett and Sheamus defeated Neville and Cesaro

For the second straight show, these four guys are in tag team action. It was a traditional tag match where there was a beating of one guy for a hot tag. Neville hit a nice crossbody to start the offense, followed by some kicks. Barrett and Sheamus isolated him, Barrett applies a submission hold to Neville’s back and Neville fights back with right hands. Barrett sends Neville into the corner and tags in Sheamus. He hits some high knees and stomps him on the mat. Quick tags and Barrett comes in with a headlock. Finally, Ceasaro gets the hot tag.

Uppercut City on Sheamus and Barrett. Cesaro goes for the Cesaro Swing, But King Barrett comes from behind and hits Cesaro with the Bull Hammer. Sheamus gets the pin and the win for his team.

Good heel work from Sheamus and Barrett tonight. I really enjoyed their dynamic in the ring and outside as well. There was really good chemistry and intensity from these guys. With similar offenses but different speeds, Sheamus and Barrett could have the potential to be a really good tag team in the future. I still want to see both men do something in singles action.

Speaking of, another confusing night and build (lack thereof) for Cesaro. I am sounding like a broken record. The action is always good and his connection with the crowd is actually very good. The fans get him and he gets how to get over without having to speak every week about himself.
