The WrestleMania Diaries: WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta

A drive that seemed to never end, with Justin LaBar in the driver’s seat and myself listening to Jermaine Dupri featuring Ludacris “Welcome To Atlanta.” It was our first Chair Shot Reality “trip” with WrestleZone and we had the pleasure of working with Kevin Nash, Road Dogg and other former WWE superstars for a night. Man, did I feel cool getting to party with some of my childhood heroes. Maybe it was the red wine that Nash and I drank or maybe it was the fact that Raven was bickering at his table for hours. “Who’d he ever beat?”

It was great to sip some red and pretend like I was important. I wasn’t. All of the weekend events, including filming CSR outside of the Georgia Dome was fun, but it was all a teaser for the big event itself. At this point, WrestleMania 27 was what I was looking forward to the most, not necessarily everything before.

Heading into The Georgia Dome was electric. Thanks to The Rock returning, WrestleMania 27 was going to be memorable. Was it memorable for the right reasons? No. It was actually an underwhelming show that featured many talents that are no longer with the company. Daniel Bryan and Sheamus kicked off the pre-show, not knowing that the following year was the beginning of the “Yes Movement.” I can remember getting hyped for when The Rock’s music hit, but what else was I looking forward to? Edge and Alberto Del Rio put on a very good match and it ended up being Edge’s last match. After that, Rey and Cody Rhodes put on a good, but forgettable match. Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella and Kofi Kingston took down The Corre. I also refer to this match as my beer break.

Was there a saving grace?

Josh controls most of the creative writing and ideas for the show on a weekly basis, as well as an on-air talent.

Aside from working with WrestleZone, Isenberg began his career in Broadcast Journalism interning at ESPN and worked with CBS Radio for three years. He has also had the opportunity to interview some of the best athletes and performers alive, including Andrew McCutchen, Ben Roethlisberger, Chris Jericho, Billy Gunn, Karl Anderson, Matt Hardy, Steven Strasburg and others.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
