Dan Lambert Brings Paige VanZant And Other Fighters To AEW Dynamite, Trades Insults With Chris Jericho

As expected, Dan Lambert arrived to AEW Dynamite with plenty of imposing backup in the form of American Top Team Fighters Paige VanZant, Kayla Harrison, Junior dos Santos, Austin Vanderford, and Andrei Arlovski. This group featured representatives of UFC, Bellator, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), and PFL (Professional Fighters League.)

Lambert had previously thrown down the gauntlet for a “Tough Guy Challenge” for Wednesday night; before fans found out who would stop up to the plate, Lambert ranted and raved about society and wrestling fans in general.

Having heard enough of Lambert’s diatribe, Chris Jericho and Jake Hager came to the stage to prove that they’re the “tough guys” Lambert was looking for. Following the Newark fans’ rendition of “Judas,” Jericho and Lambert traded insults for a few minutes, with “Le Champion” calling Lambert a “grumpy old man” and Lambert making fun of Jericho’s background as an author.

Eventually, the time for talking was over, and Jericho threatened to punch Lambert and his guys, Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky. “Le Champion” and Jake Hager were surely ready to fight the Men of the Year, but Lambert told Jericho he wouldn’t dare let this special contest be held in a place as mediocre as Newark, New Jersey. Instead, it would have to wait for next week, when Dynamite: Grand Slam will be held in the “real city” of Queens, New York.
