Impact Wrestling Opener:
The show opens with a video package highlighting Austin Aries' TNA Championship quest, and the choice he must make tonight regarding the X-Division Championship. Taz and Mike Tenay welcome us to Impact and hype "Open Fight Night" as Hulk Hogan's music hits and he makes his way to the ring!
Hulk Hogan talks about making a lot of friends, but a lot of enemies in pro wrestling. He mentions the attack on Sting at the end of last week's episode, swearing that he will find out who's behind the attack. He then calls out Austin Aries to find out if he'll "go for glory, or go for broke".
The X-Division Champion Austin Aries hits the ring and says "thank you, I know my name" as the crowd chants for him. Aries recaps Hogan's offer to give up his title to face Bobby Roode for the TNA World Championship at Destination X. He says the choice is a no-brainer, because "everybody wants to be the Champion", but also says that TNA was built on the X-Division title, and says he's afriad if he gives it up the title won't be worth anything. Aries says he's come up with "Option C", but Hulk Hogan cuts him off, saying "he's not here play games". Aries says that he will give up his Championship, if from this moment on he's the "standard bearer". He challenges Hogan to allow all future X-Division Champions to have the same opportunity he has recieved, meaning they will be able to give up their belt for a chance at the World title at future Destination X Pay-Per-Views.
World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode makes his way out, but stops on the ramp. He calls the X-Division title a "paper championship" and tells Aries he's made the biggest mistake of his life. Roode says he's not an X-Division wrestler, he's "God's gift to professional wrestling". He says he's going to hurt and embarass Aries at Destination X. Austin Aries brings up that it's Open Fight Night, and challenges Roode to hit the ring. The two start brawling ring side, before the usual security breaks them up.
The lights go out as Mr. Anderson walks out to the ramp. He cuts his usual promo with the microphone, saying that he's putting everyone on notice, promising to win the World Championship next.
