(4) Joseph Park vs. DOC
Results: Early on Park showed some impressive agility, avoiding the big man's offense. Aces & Eight's "Director of Chaos" beat the hell out of Park for the majority of the match however, even busting him open using the steel spikes of a leather belt. Once Park saw his own blood though, he turned monstrous; even hitting the Black Hole Slam! The trance didn't last long unfortunately, and DOC picked up the win with a chokeslam at 9:34. After the match, DOC threatened to cave in Park's skull with the hammer, but Bully Ray made the save and chased him off.
Review: I don't think anyone really expected a Five Star match between a lawyer and Festus. However, I continue to appreciate the Joseph Park character. The man behind the proverbial "mask" is a relatively good athlete for his size; it actually takes some skill to work the ring like a complete amateur. He and big Luke Gallows told a fun story for ten minutes, and the logical opponent won the match itself. I have always liked the dynamic between Park and Bully Ray, so I appreciated the post-match sign of respect.
More teasing towards a big Abyss reveal. After almost a year of absence from the monster, that's a return I wouldn't mind seeing in connection with the Aces & Eights. Perhaps they can turn Park's multiple personalities into a full-fledged angle. I'd be interested in seeing how many roles the actor Chris Parks can play. But I almost feel like TNA is tip-toeing around this angle with way too much caution. How long will they force us to wait? How long will fans care to wait? These are questions we'll come back to a bit later.
