El Rey will be taping more episodes of Lucha Underground on 3/21 and 3/22, and according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, those under contract expect the show to be picked up past the first season. The promotion already has tapings scheduled that would extend the Wednesday night series past its original 39-episode treatment.
As we’ve noted, the hope is to move the Spanish-language version of Lucha Underground from Unimas to the much bigger Univision channel.
Apparently, one talent they are talking about bringing in is former TNA X-Division star Sonjay Dutt. Dutt was a regular on Impact Wrestling between 2003 and 2009, with a brief run in 2012, participating in several “One Night Only” tapings. He’s only 32-years-old.
