What Match Does WWE Want For Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 32? Rousey’s Upcoming Book Banned From Walmart

wrestlemania 31During the Saturday edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the current situation involving UFC figher Ronda Rousey and possible future appearances with the WWE. Meltzer noted that the idea WWE wants to run with, and they’ve wanted it since last year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view, is to run with Ronda Rousey vs. Stephanie McMahon in a singles match.

There has been a lot of speculation over the two women teaming up with The Rock and Triple H in some sort of mixed tag team match, or featuring them in their corners. But apparently the match WWE wants at next year’s big show is Ronda vs. Stephanie, in which the undefeated UFC fighter would likely go over.

Of course we’re still a full year away from WrestleMania, and a good 8-9 months away from WWE wanting to finalize plans for their top matches. Obviously UFC and company president Dana White have to give the go-ahead for any public involvement outside of the company. While there is a precedent for a fighter getting involved in pro wrestling, one of their very top draws actually wrestling a high profile match at WrestleMania is a very different story.

While WWE wants the match to happen – as they have nothing to lose and everything to gain – it’s still a long ways from being on the books, and several obstacles remain in their path.

Rousey has been all over the news this weekend as her upcoming autobiography, My Fight / Your Fight has been banned by Walmart for being “too violent”. You can pre-order the book through Amazon now.
