According to a “key performance indicators” update on the WWE Corporate Website, this year’s WWE Fastlane PPV, which was the company’s first, took in 27,000 buys domestically, with another 16,000 overseas for an estimated total of 43,000 buys. The number was decreased significantly due to the over 1 million subscriptions to the WWE Network.
Comparatively, Fastlane was down from the 165,000 buys Elimination Chamber did last year, but many different factors account for the lower Fastlane number.
Last year’s Elimination Chamber PPV was not offered on the WWE Network, as the service launched with WrestleMania 30.
Additionally, several PPV providers have dropped WWE’s programming, including DirecTV and Dish Network. WWE’s PPV numbers have seen a steep decline since the introduction of the WWE Network, something the company had expected.
