Names Brought Up In Discussions As Possible Trainers For Tough Enough & Tips To Contestants

My Friday column for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review is all things Tough Enough. I talk about the videos I’ve been sent by indy wrestlers, tips for potential contestants and I talk about names I’ve heard discussed as possibilities to be trainers.

The following is an excerpt:

So who is the head trainer? It won’t be Stone Cold Steve Austin returning.

There’s been no official announcement yet from WWE. From sources I’ve spoke with, Taz has been mentioned in several conversations. He recently left TNA, so he’s available. He’s a respected name to fans and his colleagues. He also ran wrestling schools and seminars successfully. His name isn’t the drawing power Tough Enough would like for the head trainer spot, so he would be one of the secondary trainers if on the show.

Edge and Christian also have been mentioned. Edge certainly holds drawing value that could make him the head trainer, and he’s linked to Christian, who also would be able to serve as one of the secondary trainers.

This doesn’t mean any of these people have been formally offered any kind of deal. I just know they have all been discussed as possibilities.
