Dolph Ziggler Talks WWE 2k16, NXT’s Growing Popularity, His Decision to Re-Sign with WWE, Which NXT Star Would He Like to Face?

dolph zigglerScott Fishman of The Miami Herald recently spoke with WWE star Dolph Ziggler to promote the WWE Smackdown tapings taking place at The American Airlines Arena on September 1st. Below are some interview highlights:

On his inclusion in WWE 2k16:

“They make it so much more realistic, and I don’t know how,” Ziggler said. “They literally do like a hundred body scans of us. It blows my mind when I see myself. Some years I see myself with better abs, and it’s not because of me. It’s in the game. So that tells me to go do some cardio to make sure I’m doing this right. It’s mind-blowing when you look at this game and see how realistic it is.”

On the growing popularity of NXT:

“NXT is exploding as a brand. It’s very in right now,” he said. “You want to be an NXT fan. They sold out Barclays Center for a show. How cool is that? I’m very happy for those guys. To have them in the game is amazing. They were a developmental system in WWE and breaking out into their own brand. Now they are in the video game. If that doesn’t make them hungry and want to steal my spot, nothing will. I welcome it. I’m looking forward to it. The more challenges the better. The game is great. NXT is doing great. It’s a lot of fun.”

On who in NXT he wants to face:

“I haven’t seen Tyler Breeze in a little while, but I was watching him,” Ziggler said. “He was on the road with us doing things here and there, doing some live events. He is a good kid. He is a nice guy. He works really hard, and I like the way he works. I would say Breeze. I like him.”

On his decision to re-sign with WWE:

“My contract was coming up, and I was weighing a bunch of different option,” he said. “I had a lot of outside offers to do some other things. Instead I decided to settle on doing the thing I love the most and working for WWE. WWE has given me an out where any days off that I have they allow me to work on outside projects. So it’s a win-win for everybody.”
