CM Punk Interview Highlights: Talks Current Injury Status, AJ Lee, Working on a New Movie, Social Media Hate and More

cm punkUFC star CM Punk recently appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour and below are some interview highlights:

-On social media hate, stemming from his recent lashing out at a New York Mets fan Twitter account, Punk says he does his best not to pay attention to it. He added most of the haters just want their 5 minutes of Twitter fame.

-On his injury status, Punk says he wishes news of it did not surface on the internet because now he has to deal with people saying he won’t fight in UFC. Punk said he will definitely fight for the company.

-On his injury delaying his debut UFC fight, Punk says he is not sure. He says that he wanted to fight by the end of the year, but that’s a question for his coach, Duke Roufus, and they’ll find out more in January. He says nothing major is torn in his shoulder, and initially they feared it was a labrum or rotator cuff. The injury took place at the end of August, and he has since improved a lot.

-Punk noted that he just got paid a good amount of money for a three day movie shoot, and his wife, AJ Lee, will also be in the movie. Punk added Lee will have to do sword fighting training for the movie. On the subject of money, Punk says he doesn’t like it, but it “keeps the lights on.”
