Did WWE Know About Roman Reigns’ Wellness Violation Before WWE Money in the Bank?

As we have been reporting, Roman Reigns has been suspended by WWE for 30 days for his first violation of the company’s Wellness Policy. As the suspension is effective immediately, Reigns will miss the upcoming WWE Draft on the first live edition of Smackdown next month, but could return in time for the triple threat championship match at WWE Battleground.

Interesting enough, according to breaking news audio by Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio, top WWE officials were aware of the violation before Sunday’s WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view, where Reigns dropped the title to Seth Rollins, who then dropped the title to Dean Ambrose. That means those in decision-making power knew they were going to have to suspend one of their top stars, and still booked him to compete at Money in the Bank, and still used him the following night on WWE RAW to set up the SHIELD triple threat at WWE Battleground, which means there’s a very good chance that match is still happening despite Reigns being off all television leading into the match.
