As noted, WWE Raw GM Mick Foley announced on Facebook last week that Sasha Banks vs Charlotte will main event WWE Hell in a Cell on Sunday night, but Foley later edited his announcement and said he doesn’t know which match will headline.
According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio, there are a lot of people in WWE who would like to see the women main event Hell in a Cell, but there are also a lot of higher ups in WWE who do not want them to main event the PPV.
Furthermore, there’s a feeling that Banks vs Charlotte has to go on either first or last at the PPV. Because Banks is from Boston and will be a big crowd favorite Sunday night, there’s the though that if the match goes on in the middle of the card, some fans might leave after it’s over. But if the match goes on first or last, the crowd will of course stick around.
As of now, the true main event of the night remains undecided, but it will be one of the three Hell in a Cell matches.
