Welcome or welcome back to our weekly WWE RAW hits and misses series where we recap all the good and bad from the show.
Hit – John Cena vs. the WWE Universe
John Cena has completely turned his back on the WWE Universe, especially all the kids. The Glasgow crowd let Cena knew what they thought of him. What’s fascinating is Cena’s lack of acknowledgement for Cody Rhodes in his back-to-back promos on WWE RAW. It’s like the fans are his enemies and not Cody. Cena has promised to ruin wrestling for everyone at WrestleMania. I guess we have no choice but to wait till March 20 to find out.
Miss – Jey Uso’s mystery partner is…
Jimmy Uso. That was a bit of a letdown, I’m not going to lie. Fans were expecting Joe Hendry to pop up in Glasgow, especially with how his previous appearances went down on WWE television. Even if Hendry didn’t show up and fans worked themselves into thinking that would happen, Drew McIntyre would’ve been an interesting choice for Jey’s tag team partner. As for the match, The Usos won after hitting Theory with their tag team finisher. Jey seemingly botched his spear on Gunther after the match. At least, Big Jim shook Gunther with that slap backstage.

Hit – Dragon Lee vs. El Grande Americano on WWE RAW
Some didn’t like WWE’s alleged use of El Grande Americano’s AI-generated promo. I can’t speak for those fans but I found the whole vignette and the backstory hilarious. The match itself was among the better ones from the night. Cole couldn’t help but call Americano Chad Gable after the apron suplex. Americano won after a cheap tactic but, at least, he got more success than Gable has had against Dragon Lee and the LWO.
Miss – Lyra Valkyria vs. Raquel Rodriguez on WWE RAW
There was nothing remarkable about this match except for a few spots. The crowd didn’t seem to care as well. Liv Morgan was arguably the biggest star of the three and she wasn’t even competing in the match. The roll-up finisher and post-match run-in by Bayley seems to suggest a tag team match is just around the corner.
Hit – CM Punk’s promo on WWE RAW
CM Punk got a huge ovation in the arena that watched him pull off the Glasgow Screwjob in 2024. Punk’s Brawl Out reference may have popped a few people in the back. The internet went berserk as usual. Punk once again teased a favor Paul Heyman owes him. This writer is looking forward to the crowd signing for the three-way dance this Friday on SmackDown.
Miss – Ending to Bron Breakker vs. Penta
The ending ruined it for what otherwise was a solid IC title match featuring Breakker and Penta. They could’ve easily set up a multi-man match for the title at WrestleMania 41 without the controversial ending. Penta losing to Breakker clean in a title match was this writer’s preferred outcome.
Honorable Mention
- Rhea Ripley getting her title rematch on WWE RAW next week is a nice surprise. Bianca Belair will be the special guest referee for those who didn’t sit through the whole show. Bianca will most likely screw things to set up the triple threat women’s world title match at WrestleMania 41.
