Raw GM Adam Pearce In-Ring Segment

Pearce notes that the situation involving the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania needs to be addressed. The champion IYO SKY, Bianca Belair, and Rhea Ripley join Pearce in the ring. Pearce notes that he was wrong to think the three of them would be able to handle themselves like adults so he’s booking them in a triple threat match at WrestleMania.

Belair grabs a mic and says a few weeks ago, this would have upset her, but she knows that Ripley isn’t going anywhere and can just walk in and be gifted a title shot. Ripley and Belair get into an argument and take turns tossing the contract at each other to sign. SKY gets mushed in the face… again. As Ripley and Belair argue. SKY takes both women out with a springboard dropkick. SKY signs the contract.

Grade: B

Good opening segment. They didn’t waste time getting to the point, and that was for the best. Belair is getting a ton of heat during the build to this match, and the promo she cut sounded a bit like a heel promo. Belair is 100% right and the crowd seemingly hates her for it. This writer isn’t sure where this is going, but it will be interesting, to say the least.

Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match: Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Bayley

Bayley and Valkyria take turns trading takedowns and submission holds. Bayley rolls Valkyria up for a near fall. Valkyria looks stunned. Bayley mocks Valkyria, telling her it was that close. Bayley blocks a boot and lands a nasty knee to Valkyria’s head. Valkyria counters Bayley’s corner sunset bomb into a pin of her own. Bayley kicks out. Surfboard stretch by Valkyria. Bayley kicks out. Valkyria works over Bayley.

After the break, Bayley is in control. Both women trade strikes. Rope stunner by Bayley. Baseball slide kick by Bayley. Bayley misses a dive. Valkyria tries a dive of her own, but Bayley counters with a Bayley-to-Belly out on the floor. Both women are almost counted out. Valkyria misses a dive and gets caught in a lion tamer by Bayley. Bayley tries to transition into the Rose Plant, but Valkyria reverses it into a pin for the win.

Winner and STILL Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Lyra Valkyria!

After the match, Bayley refuses a handshake. Bayley eventually comes back in the ring and hugs Valkyria.

Grade: B-

This was a solid match. Valkyria continues to impress in the ring. It would be nice if she was given the opportunity to show a bit of personality… or maybe give us a reason to care about Valkyria beyond her holding a championship and being Becky Lynch’s friend.

The LWO vs. El Grande Americano and The Creed Brothers w/Ivy Nile

Lee, Wilde, and del Toro land stereo dropkicks followed by dives. Americano and the Creeds respond with triple superplexes. Americano counters a doomsday device with a powerslam. Lee blasts Americano with a Liger Bomb. Julius breaks up the pin with a shooting star press. Wilde lands a sky-high dive to the outside. Corkscrew crossbody by del Toro. Nile hands Americano a metal plate that he slides in his mask. Rey Mysterio tries to stop it, but American headbutts Mysterio. Americano lands a diving headbutt with the loaded mask on Lee for the win.

Winners- El Grande Americano and The Creed Brothers

Grade: B

Fun match. Each team dug deep in their bags to show out tonight. Julius’ shooting star press is a thing of beauty. Del Toro and Wilde fly around the ring with reckless abandon and are always fun to watch.

The Ring General

The World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is all smiles. Before Gunther can speak, Jey Uso’s music hits. Jey makes his way to the ring through the crowd. Jey joins Gunther in the ring. Gunther tries to speak, but Jey slaps the mic out of Gunther’s hands. Jey asks Gunther if he has a family or a mom. Jey asks Gunther what he talks to his mom about. Gunther looks confused.

Jey says he had to talk to his mother this week about his brother being laid up in the hospital with 14 stitches on his head. Jey rants until getting to telling Gunther that he isn’t afraid of him anymore. Gunther tries to speak, but Jey cuts him off. Jey says the night before WrestleMania, he’s going to pray for forgiveness because of the man he’s about to become. At WrestleMania, Jey is going to get Gunther.

Grade C+

This started off rough. Jey seems to have gotten lost at the start of this, but he finished strong. The striking thing about this segment is that Gunther actually seemed worried. That’s a first.

WWE World Tag Team Championship Match: War Raiders (c) vs. The New Day

Kingston and Woods are in control early. Unicorn Stampede by the New Day. The fight spills out of the ring. Ivar crushes Woods with a low crossbody against the barricade. After the break, Woods brings a chair into the ring. Erik takes the chair and hits Woods with it. The referee sees it and disqualifies War Raiders.

Winners- The New Day

After the match, Woods and Kingston beat down Erik and Ivar. Woods and Kingston target Erik’s previously injured neck. Security and officials stopped Kingston from landing a double stomp to Erik’s neck while it was wrapped in a chair.

Grade: B

Good match, with an unexpected ending that helps solidify New Day’s heel turn. Good stuff.

Penta vs. Dominik Mysterio

Penta sends Dominik out of the ring and lands a dive that takes out Dominik and Carlito. After the break, Dominik catches Penta with the three amigos for a near fall. Dominik works over Penta. Dominik hits a Mexican destroyer on Penta, followed by a 619. Penta gets his knees up during Dominik’s frog splash. Penta snaps Dominik’s arm with the sacrifice. Dominik gets to his feet and walks right into the Pentagon Driver for the win.

Winner- Penta

After the match, Dominik and Carlito beat down Penta. Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker walks out on the stage. Carlito meets Breakker in the isleway and eats a Spear. Breakker Speak Dominik and Penta. Finn Bálor attacks Bron Breakker from behind and poses with the IC title.

Grade: C+

This was probably Penta’s worst match since debuting in WWE. It wasn’t terrible, but both Penta and Dominik seemed off tonight. The stuff after the match with Breakker and Bálor was highly entertaining.

His Name is Paul Heyman

Heyman is in the ring, and he says he wants to make a few things clear. He will always be loyal to his Tribal Chief, and he’ll always be loyal to his best friend, CM Punk. Before Heyamn can finish his thought, Seth Rollins interrupts. Rollins asks Heyman who’s side he’s own. Heyman chuckles. Rollins rants about Roman Reigns not caring about Heyman. Rollins notes that Heyman’s best friend, CM Punk, was nowhere to be found when Heyman was being tortured by The Bloodline.

Heyman frowns. Rollins says Heyman needs to be removed from the proceedings. Rollins is happy to be the one who takes Heyman out, and it’s for Heyman’s own good. Heyman backs up. Rollins pushes Heyman. Heyman tells Rollins not to put his damn hands on him. Rollins forces Heyman into the corner. CM Punk runs down to the ring and attacks Rollins. Both men brawl. Rollins surprises Punk with The Stomp. Heyman checks on Punk. Rollins makes like he’s going to Stomp Heyman, but he doesn’t. Rollins tells Heyman that Heyman owes him a favor now.

Grade: B+

They just keep adding layers to this thing. Rollins didn’t tell one lie as he ran down Heyman. Punk made a valiant effort to make a save, but this went poorly for the second city saint.
