NXT North American Championship #1 Contenders match: Ethan Page vs. Eddy Thorpe vs. Wes Lee vs. Lexis King

The NXT North American Champion, Ricky Saints, walks to the commentary desk to watch the match. This match starts hot, with everyone going for pins. Eventually, everyone gangs up on King. King is tossed from the ring as Thorpe, Page, and Lee turn this into a triple threat. Page tosses Thorpe into Saints at ringside. Saints bows up at Page.

The referee ejects Saints from ringside, much to Page’s delight. After the break, Lee stops King from tapping to a double submission from Thorpe and Page. Lee hits a whisper in the wind out of a tower of doom spot. King drops Lee with the Coronation. Page runs in and surprises King with the Twisted Grin for the win.

Winner- Ethan Page

After the match, Page tries to cut a promo, but Saints hops the barricade and cuts Page in half with a spear.

Grade: B+

This was a high-quality, fast-paced contest. Each man shined, specifically Lee, with his high-flying assault. Page was the best option to win this, as he has a legitimate issue with Page after Page ruined his championship victory celebration. The spot after the match worked, as Saint needed to finally get one up on Page. Page had that coming.

NXT North American Championship Qualifying Match: Lola Vice vs. Tatum Paxley w/Gigi Dolan

Paxley and Vice trade takedowns and submission holds. The fight spills out of the ring. Paxley hides under the ring. Dolin distracts Vice. Paxley pulls Vice into the ring apron, shoulder first. Paxley works over Vice’s injured arm. At the finish, Vice surprised Paxley with a spinning back fist for the pin.

Winner- Lola Vice

Grade: B-

Fun match. It was nice to see Vice back on NXT TV. It’s a shame her return win came at the expense of Paxley, who is low-key one of the most interesting personalities on the show (we rarely get to see it). Vice would have to be one of the favorites in the North American Championship ladder match.

NXT Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders Tag Team Gauntlet match: Briggs & Inamura vs. No Quarter Catch Crew vs. Hank & Tank vs. The Culling vs. Tyson DuPont & Tyriek Igwe

Tyson DuPont & Tyriek Igwe, and Hank & Tank kick off the match. Hank and Tank eliminate DuPont and Igwe after hitting their finish.

Tyson DuPont & Tyriek Igwe have been eliminated

The Culling is out next. Hank and Tank quickly meet in the middle of Jensen, but he kicks out. After the break, Tank counters a doomsday device with a Rick Steiner-like powerslam for the pin.

The Culling has been eliminated

No Quarter Catch Crew is next. Borne and Heights are all over Tank, since he is utterly eexhausted Tank pins Heights after a surprise rroll-up

No Quarter Catch Crew have been eliminated

Briggs and Inamura are the final team. After pushing Briggs into Inamura, Hank surprises Briggs with a roll up.

Briggs & Inamura have been eliminated

Winners- Hank and Tank

Grade: B

As far as gauntlet matches go, this was a quality contest. This writer isn’t a fan of Hank and Tank (still don’t get it- but that’s fine), but they were impressive tonight. They managed to have different matches with different finishes for each, which is hard to pull off. They hit the mark here, and with the people firmly in their corner, there is a strong chance they will end Fraxiom’s title reign at Stand and Deliver.

In the parking lot, Stacks is with the rest of The Family. Tony D’Angelo isn’t there. When asked, Stacks says he made the call. DarkState shows up, and a huge brawl breaks out. After each member of the Family is laid out, a car pulls up, and Tony D’Angelo hops out and beats each member of DarkState with a crowbar. The cops pull up, and someone in Darkstate yells, “12, 12!!” which is a huge pop for this writer (if you know, you know). D’Angelo checks on Stacks and yells at him about doing this without his permission. Stacks apologizes. D’Angelo says they will take care of this the right way against DarkState at Stand and Deliver. D’Angelo tells Stacks to never cross him again.

Grade: B+

This was an entertaining, chaotic brawl. Both groups did a great job attempting murder on live TV as they trashed most of the parking lot and backstage area of the arena. It didn’t make sense to have a match between these groups on this show when Stand and Deliver is the obvious place for the confrontation.

NXT North American Championship Qualifying Match: Karmen Petrovic w/Ashante “Thee” Adonis vs. Thea Hail

Petrovic and Hail trade strikes. Petrovic takes over after a series of kicks. Hail fires up and lands a lariat. Hail lands a double under hook neckbreaker, followed by the Kimura. Petrovic taps out.

Winner- Thea Hail

Grade: C+

It was a very short match, but it accomplished its goal. Hail looks like a beast and a credible option to win the NXT Women’s North American Championship Ladder Match.

Championship Face-off

Trick Williams says he has done a lot of soul-searching after Je’Von Evans said he turned into Carmelo Hayes. Williams realized that sometimes you live long enough to become the villain. NXT Champion Oba Femi interrupts. Femi says Williams’ shtick is tired. Williams says he will do Femi a favor and take back the title Williams let Femi have. Je’Von Evans is out next. Evans tells Williams to shut up and babbles about Femi acting as NXT revolves around him. Evans says Femi is going to the main event, WrestleMania, one day, but Evans wasn’t even supposed to be here, but he is.

Femi props Evans and calls him the future, but Femi is the present. Femi tells Evans he can’t handle being the champion because Evans is a child. Evans says he’s going to wrestle circles around Williams and Femi. Williams and Femi push Evans out of the ring and brawl. Evans tries to get involved again but gets tossed out of the ring by Femi and Williams. Evans springboards back into the ring and hits a double cutter on Femi and Williams.

Grade: C+

Like most of the NXT Universe, this writer is a fan of Je’Von Evans. That said, his promo tonight started off pretty rough. It’s clear that that is the one part of his game he needs to focus on since Williams and Femi both cleared him on the mic tonight. It’s great that he ended up standing tall in the end; otherwise, keeping up the guise of him being a credible challenge would have been all but gone. The finish of this was excellent as Femu and Williams gave Evans the litter brother treatment, and it cost them both dearly.

WWE NXT Review:

The go-home show for Stand and Deliver was way more entertaining than the Raw go-home show. This episode of NXT features hugely important matches and limited in-ring promos. This show moved QUICKLY and set up angles and matches for the PLE effectively. The match of the night was the North American Championship Contenders Fatal Four-way match. Who will come out on top at Stand and Deliver? Let us know what you think in the comments!
