Is Donald Trump the new Tribal Chief?
Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th U.S. President, recently received a traditional Samoan necklace called Ula Fala. Steven Cheung, who currently serves as Assistant to the President & White House Director of Communications, recently took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a photo of placing the traditional Samoan necklace, Ula Fala, on President Donald Trump.
Cheung referred to President Trump as “The Tribal Chief” in his post. He wrote, “The President @realDonaldTrump being presented with the sacred Ula Fala.” Taking things a step further, Cheung used an index finger and a blood drop emoji, clearly referencing WWE’s Bloodline storyline. This was likely a response to Roman Reigns telling Vanity Fair why he supported Trump as President.
Cheung, who started his role as White House Communications Director on January 20, 2025, also worked as Trump’s campaign spokesman in the 2024 election. He has previously been involved in Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns.
With Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th U.S. President, being referred to as “The Tribal Chief. It will be interesting to see how Roman Reigns, who is also called “The Tribal Chief” in WWE, reacts.
Roman Reigns explains his reasons for supporting President Donald Trump
While speaking to Vanity Fair, Reigns explained why he supports President Donald Trump. Reigns also said that he doesn’t support everything Trump does, such as picking fights with political rivals. “It’s like he needs that adversary. He needs that opposition to bounce off of. He needs that competitive motivation or something,” Reigns said. “To be honest, the world seems to be more like wrestling than any other form of entertainment.”
Meanwhile, in WWE, Roman Reigns is set to main event WrestleMania for the tenth time in his career. He will face CM Punk and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match.
