WWE Veteran Says Revoking Donald Trump’s Citizenship Would Reduce Crime

Wrestling personality Jim Cornette has sparked another political debate after reacting to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on birthright citizenship.

Following the decision, the outspoken veteran posted a strongly worded message targeting President Donald Trump and his family. This continued a long-running pattern of public criticism.

The comments came shortly after the Supreme Court rejected Trump’s executive order that sought to end automatic U.S. citizenship for children born in the United States to undocumented immigrants or parents on temporary visas.

Jim Cornette reacts to Supreme Court ruling with fiery message

Cornette wasted little time sharing his thoughts on social media (X) after the June 30 ruling. Rather than focusing solely on the court’s decision, he turned his attention toward Trump himself with a sarcastic response.

“If we’re going to revoke anyone’s US citizenship, let’s start with Sh*tler and his whole family — the air will smell better, and the crime rate will drop in half,” Cornette wrote.

The veteran manager, commentator, booker, and podcast host has frequently criticized Trump over the years. So the latest post doesn’t emerge as a surprise and continues a familiar trend. Cornette has previously condemned Trump over issues including the Jan. 6 pardons and has regularly voiced his political opinions through social media.

The Supreme Court ruling marked a setback for Trump’s executive order, which had already been blocked by lower courts before ultimately being rejected. Cornette used that outcome as the setup for his latest remarks, taking aim at the president instead of celebrating the legal decision itself.

Politics has occasionally crossed paths with the wrestling world, although WWE programming generally stays focused on in-ring action. Several figures, including Triple H and Roman Reigns, have previously spoken positively about Trump, while CM Punk said during an appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show that politics is rarely discussed backstage.

As for Cornette, his latest post has once again ensured he’s making headlines outside the squared circle. Love him or loathe him — a phrase wrestling fans know well — he rarely pulls his punches when weighing in on political topics.
