Leon Slater On Having Support of The Hardys Ahead of TNA Slammiversary

Leon Slater talks about having the support of Matt and Jeff Hardy leading up to TNA Slammiversary.

At TNA Slammiversary, Leon Slater will be looking to become the X Division Champion when he takes on Moose for the coveted title. Slater is the fan favorite heading into the match, but perhaps more important than that, he has the support of the legendary Hardy Boys, who previously put over Slater during an in-ring promo on TNA iMPACT.

Leon Slater recently appeared on The A2theK Wrestling Show to promote TNA Slammiversary. During the conversation, the 20-year-old star shared his thoughts on what it’s like to have the endorsement of Matt and Jeff Hardy.

“It doesn’t feel real, man,” Slater said. “Like, it’s kinda hard to put into real life. The Leon Slater that’s on the picture behind you and the Leon Slater that’s talking to you, to me, feels like two different people. You know what I’m saying?

“So it’s not until I look at a graphic or a video of me and the Hardys in the ring, and then I look in the mirror and go, ‘Oh my God. That’s the same person. That’s me.’

Leon Slater calls the Hardys his childhood idols

“It’s not something I process like that — that it feels real. But once that feeling settles in, and the reality of it settles in, it feels amazing, man. Not only have I got my family behind me, my friends behind me, the UK behind me — I’ve got my childhood idols behind me.

“That’s not a sentence a lot of people from Bradford, especially at 20, get to say. So, going into Slammiversary, having what feels like the world pushing me toward this goal, I feel like I can’t be stopped, man. And that’s in huge part thanks to the Hardys.”

WrestleZone will have full coverage of TNA Slammiversary as it airs on July 20.
