Report: Ring Of Honor Had Some Recent TV Deal Offers

For a while, there have been reports that Ring of Honor has been trying to acquire a television deal. But to date, a television deal has not been finalized.

Recently, Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that despite Ring Of Honor still not having an official television deal, there had been offers and discussions in the past. The report also mentioned that Tony Khan had a specific amount in mind of how much ROH is worth. As of now, no deal has been finalized.

“In the past, it was noted that ROH has had discussions regarding a potential television deal. When Fightful inquired about the details, we were just told that Tony Khan had a specific goal and amount he thought such a deal was worth. We also learned that there had been inquiries, that actually led to another deal.”

Warner Bros. Discovery had discussions about a TV slot for Ring of Honor

During the same report, Fightful Select revealed that Warner Bros. Discovery had shown interest in allotting a TV slot for Ring of Honor.

“In January, TruTV began airing replays of AEW Dynamite Friday nights at 10 PM ET. Sources close to WBD claimed to Fightful Select that deal actually came about from discussions regarding an ROH TV slot. However, the terms weren’t quite there to make a deal, but AEW was open to running a replay of Dynamite in that spot for the deal instead. We’re told that wasn’t even an amount that AEW had particularly expected when hammering out their rights deal initially, and the two sides came to terms, leading to that weekly replay.”

It is also being reported that there are no immediate plans for an AEW Shockwave event. That was more of a “theory and a pitch”, but nothing was finalized.
