Kofi Kingston Reacts To Jade Cargill Paying Tribute To Him At SummerSlam

Kofi Kingston seems to believe that he was a source of inspiration for Jade Cargill at SummerSlam on Saturday night.

SummerSlam featured a WWE Women’s Championship match between the champion, Tiffany Stratton, and the challenger, Jade Cargill. The latter entered the ring first, wearing black, yellow and green attire inspired by the Jamaican flag.

Kofi Kingston took notice (and credit) for being the source of inspiration for Cargill’s attire. Kofi called back to his early days in WWE when he wore similar attire (and had a Jamaican accent despite being born in Ghana and raised near Boston).

“Kinda cool seeing @Jade_Cargill paying tribute to me tonight on #summerslam,” Kofi Kingston wrote on Twitter/X. “…but I did it way better and more authentically.”

The New Day won the WWE World Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 41 and held the titles for 72 days. They lost the titles to The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh on the June 30 episode of RAW.

Since then, the duo has remained in the tag team title hunt, and recently competed in a triple threat number one contenders match on the July 22 episode of RAW. The duo has also been a source of comedic segments, including seeing Grayson Waller attempt to align with them.
