New details have surfaced about Ashante Thee Adonis’ unexpected WWE departure.
Earlier this week, Tehuti Miles, known in WWE as Ashante Thee Adonis, announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he had left WWE after six years. Following his departure, Fightful (via Fightful Select) has now reported more details on his departure.
Ashante’s WWE contract expired on August 10, marking the end of his run. He was one of many talents WWE brought back in the summer of 2022 on three-year deals. While several of those wrestlers have already been released, Ashante’s exit was simply because his contract ran out.
WWE informed him a couple of weeks beforehand that they would not renew it. He hadn’t appeared on WWE TV since then. Although he spent the past year in NXT, Ashante stayed under a main roster contract.
Ashante received praise for his dedication in NXT. It was reported that he constantly worked to improve both at the Performance Center and in his own personal training time. With his contract expired, Ashante can take bookings right away without any waiting period.
Several in TNA have already shown interest in bringing him in for appearances. He previously work in TNA back in January in a match against Jake Something. Before making a name for himself in WWE, he had matches in ROH under its former ownership and was a regular in MCW.
It will be interesting to see what Ashante Thee Adonis does next in his career. Will he join TNA Wrestling, sign with AEW or go to the independent scene? Only time will tell.
After 6 unforgettable years under the WWE lights, the time has come for me to close that chapter. I'm filled with nothing but gratitude for every opportunity, the experiences, lessons, and incredible talent I've had the chance to work with.
