Report: WWE Considering Moving John Cena’s Final Match To Go Head-To-Head With AEW Worlds End

WWE is still unsure of how it plans to treat John Cena‘s last wrestling match, and may choose to put it up against their rivals big event.

According to Bryan Alvarez during a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live, WWE is keeping plans fluid. Originally, the plan was to have Cena’s last match take place during a WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in early December. However, WWE may change it so that Cena’s last match happens on the same day as AEW Worlds End.

“Originally, the final John Cena match was gonna be in early December at Saturday Night’s Main Event,” said Alvarez. “This is not confirmed, but it does look like there is now a discussion that that date will be moved so it will be head-to-head with AEW Worlds End.”

Worlds End is currently set to take place on Saturday, December 27, 2025. Although not traditionally as big as All in, Worlds End is often seen as one of AEW‘s bigger pay-per-view events. Currently, WWE has no premium live event scheduled for December. It’s unclear whether the match would occur on a traditional PLE, or if WWE would air SNME later.

As for Cena, he has just 12 appearances left on his retirement tour. Cena’s final opponent remains a mystery as well. While many pointed to CM Punk or Cody Rhodes, the sudden return of Brock Lesnar has shaken things up.
