WWE Planning Major Main Event For PLE Running Against AEW All Out

Two former foes are set to collide once again at an upcoming WWE PLE.

For the first time ever, WWE will reportedly be directly running a main roster premium live event against an All Elite Wrestling pay-per-view event. The WWE PLE in reference is said to be taking place in Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday August 20, the same day as AEW All Out, which emanates from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The exact name of WWE’s upcoming PLE is not yet known. Its reported main event, however, has surfaced, courtesy of Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

““It can change, but the main event for this show is Brock Lesnar and John Cena,” Meltzer said. “So it’s a big one. Which is why Brock’s not in Paris, is because of this. They wanted him for this show, not for the Paris show. And that’s where Logan Paul got the gig.”

As Meltzer alluded to, former Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena will take on Logan Paul at Clash In Paris on August 31 following their recent confrontation on WWE SmackDown. During it, Cena referred to Paul as “the biggest dumbass” he’d ever seen.

Brock Lesnar Is Back In WWE

Regarding Brock Lesnar, he made a shocking return to television at the end of WWE SummerSlam night two to lay out Cena with an F5. Prior to that, “The Beast” had been off of WWE programming for two years, mainly due to being named in the sex trafficking lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant. According to WWE commentator Michael Cole, Lesnar’s return came after WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque and WWE President Nick Khan reached out to him several weeks before SummerSlam with the claim that it was “time for [him] to come home.”

Cena and Lesnar last wrestled each other in a triple threat WWE Championship match (also involving Seth Rollins) at the 2015 Royal Rumble, which Lesnar won.
