WWE has released a number of wrestlers in the past year. One such talent is former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Lacey Lane, more popularly known as Kayden Carter in the Stamford-based promotion.
Recently, the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion was a special guest on the Busted Open Radio podcast. During the interview, Lacey Lane mentioned that when she was a part of the Women’s Tag Team division, she always found it to be fun.
“I feel like I have so much to offer, and I feel like I wasn’t able to showcase that… I’m not quite sure why it’s such a taboo thing where everyone’s like, ‘Oh, like, women’s tag wrestling isn’t anything,’ and I’m like, it’s fun.” [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
But at the same time, Lane shared that she felt she was very much held back in terms of creativity in the Stamford-based promotion. She also added that while fans may have been used to seeing her in a tag team, she has much more to offer.
“I feel like people are used to seeing me in a tag team… but I also want to remind people that I am an individual, that I did have a spark before I got to WWE. I was so much of a Spitfire, and that same passion, that same drive, is still there.” [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
Does the former WWE Superstar have a future in AEW?
Lane also felt that there was a lack of feedback despite having great talents such as TJ Wilson and many more. She mentioned that everyone always appreciated her in-ring work, but there wasn’t any constructive criticism. As a result, she did not know what she needed to give more of, as she was unaware of what she was lacking.
“Every time after a match, we got great critiques. TJ [Wilson] was always like, ‘That was awesome. Like, you guys brought unique stuff all the time.’ We never got anything said to us that, like, ‘Hey, you should do this, you should do that.’… we just tried to give more because we didn’t know what we were lacking.” [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
Lane does, however, see a future in Tony Khan’s AEW. She stated that she likes the way the Jacksonville-based promotion is working and would love to work there.
“I think AEW is my speed. Because, you know, those girls can f—— go. I love the way that they work. They don’t bring the bulls—, they bring the fists. And you know me, I’m a girl that’s down to fight. I love that. So I can see myself there definitely,” Lane said. [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
