Cody Rhodes is now a father of two, but he might’ve subconsciously spilled the beans early.
Cody and his wife, Brandi, announced on Friday that they have welcomed a new daughter, Leilani, to their family. This is the second child for the couple, who also share a daughter named Liberty, born in 2021.
Some fans now believe Cody tipped some people off that he was having a second child. The speculation is based on his comments during a recently resurfaced clip of his interview on The Bill Simmons podcast. It’s unclear when it was recorded, but the interview was published ahead of SummerSlam, which took place on August 2 and 3 in New Jersey.
During the interview, Simmons asked Rhodes how old his kid (or kids) were. Rhodes slipped and said two, then quickly corrected himself and said one, adding that he’s not sure why he said two.
“How old are your — you have one kid, or two?” Simmons asked.
“Two — no one. I’m sorry, one. Sorry, I don’t know why [I said two],” Rhodes replied.
It seems like maybe we know why Cody said two now. Regardless of how it was announced, it’s still a wonderful time in Cody and Brandi’s lives. Congratulations to the Rhodes family on their new addition!

Cody Rhodes might have his next WWE feud lined up
Cody Rhodes has been absent from WWE TV for several weeks. Rhodes regained the Undisputed WWE Championship from John Cena at night two of SummerSlam in New Jersey. However, Rhodes has not been seen on WWE television for several weeks.
Drew McIntyre took him out with a Claymore on the SmackDown after SummerSlam, and he hasn’t been seen since. Many fans assumed this was done to set up a match at WWE Clash In Paris, but Rhodes has remained absent and does not have a match on the card.
During an appearance on the Huge Pop podcast, McIntyre confirmed that the reason he attacked Rhodes was because he is chasing the title.
