While there has been plenty of crossover between WWE and UFC over the years, the fact that the two companies are under the same umbrella makes it more likely than ever.
Undefeated UFC Featherweight Lerone Murphy recently spoke with Card Player. When asked if he had any interest in wrestling and if he watched WWE growing up, Murphy said he loved it as a kid, but doesn’t have any interest in the product now because it’s so different.
“I used to love it growing up, The Rock, Stone Cold, but not anymore,” Lerone Murphy said. “I’ve got no interest in it now, it’s totally different. It’s not the same. Like tuning in for wrestling on a Saturday used to be the best as a kid, I had all the figures and everything.”
When asked if he would turn down the opportunity if WWE came calling, Murphy said he wouldn’t be able to turn them down if they were interested.
“Of course not,” Lerone Murphy said. “It’s iconic in America, one of the biggest things out there, so for sure. So I wouldn’t be able to turn it down if they came calling.”
