Adrenaline in his soul, Guile’s Sonic Boom… It’s Cody Rhodes.
It’s been a busy month for The American Nightmare, who was absent from WWE programming for a number of weeks to film his role of Guile in Street Fighter and the birth of his second child.
Rhodes returned to SmackDown on Friday night to set up his match with Drew McIntyre this weekend at Wrestlepalooza. But how did his time on set go while he was away?
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), people who worked with Cody Rhodes on the set of the Street Fighter movie spoke glowingly of the WWE Champion.
One source told Sapp that New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Hirooki Goto’s inclusion as E Honda seemingly took place after Rhodes put in a good word for him.
While Rhodes’ time on set is reportedly done, Roman Reigns is still filming his role as Akuma.
Street Fighter is scheduled to hit theaters on October 16, 2026.
