Jake Roberts Reflects On King Of The Ring Finals Against Steve Austin

Jake Roberts was involved in an iconic WWE moment at King of the Ring. This led to the eventual birth of Stone Cold Steve Austin and his Austin 3:16 catchphrase.

WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts recently spoke to WrestleZone via Gameshub. When asked if the company had a backup plan for his King of the Ring finals match against Steve Austin had he not been able to return from the hospital in time for the match, Roberts admitted he didn’t know, and all he did was show up.

“I have no idea,” Jake Roberts admitted. “All I did was show up. But Stone Cold did show up in the end, made the hospital trip, got sewed up and came back and gave me a hard time in the finals.”

Had Austin not been able to return in time for this matchup, it would have changed one of the most pivotal moments in WWE history. Luckily, things went according to plan.
