One of the veterans in the wrestling business is the Dark Angel Stephanie Vaquer. She began wrestling at a very young age and is now one of the top stars in WWE. Recently, the former NXT Women’s World Champion revealed which female wrestler inspired her to become a professional wrestler.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast, Stephanie Vaquer revealed that she grew up watching WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. She reflected on the time when she was 15 years old and after watching Stratus wrestle, Vaquer promised her dad that she will also be a WWE champion one day.
“Trish [Stratus]. At Evolution, we talk about that and I said, Trish. I grew up and experience a lot because you start this, you’re amazing. And now I know Trish personally, and it’s like, wow, she’s amazing. And yeah, when I was 15, I told my dad one day I will be WWE Champion, and my dad, yes, you’re so sure. And now my dad is my big fan, and he like amazing, yes.”
The Dark Angel then went on to list out her dream opponents. Vaquer is eager to have a one-on-one match against the Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka. She also shared her interest in wrestling the Eradicator Rhea Ripley.
“One-on-one with Asuka. I really want because it’s not been one-on-one. Asuka or Rhea, Mami versus Mamasita,” Stephanie Vaquer said.
This past Monday night on Raw, WWE teased a match between Ripley and Stephanie Vaquer. Also, the Dark Angel is set to face one of Asuka’s friends, IYO SKY, at Wrestlepalooza for the WWE Women’s World Title.
